RESULTS Champ Show 2021- Sunday 10th Oct

The Standard Poodle Club (SPC) organised the biggest gathering of Standard Poodles of the Year yesterday at the Kennel Club Building Stoneleigh. 111 dogs were entered (20 NFE), the most Standards on show since Crufts, now 20 Months ago.

It was a lovely sunny, warm, autumnal day with a great atmosphere.

Judging took place outside by breed specialist Mrs Melva Nathan (Supernova).

I thank the committee for their hospitality and the exhibitors for the super entry. The dogs seemed to enjoy their day out in the sunshine on the huge grass ring. Vet D (4,1) Aikman’s Ch Namkia In Gear With Wiggins. This exhibitor has to be congratulated on maintaining the profuse and dense white coat on this 9 year old. He is so well made and I think even better than when I last judged him. Showed really well. Best Vet. 2 McBlain’s Alusio Street Talk By Kossab JW ShCM. Smart 10 year old. Masculine head with small dark eye. Very good body topped with thick, black curls. Well angulated rear and he moved well. 3 Hardy’s Labamba Dirty Sexy Money. PD (3) 1 Rogers’ Montravia Morse Code . Really taken with this black boy. Text book construction and one of the very few with correct front assembly. Short back and a good length of neck, making a great outline. Good body and ribs. His head is beautifully balanced, long and fine with correct chin. Dark expressive eyes. Well angulated rear enabling him to move soundly with good ground coverage. He holds his topline well and holds his tail at the correct angle. Was a serious contender for higher honours in the challenge and i look forward to watching him mature. Best Puppy. 2 Pearce’s Alisiane Show Your Self. Promising yoiungster and unlucky to meet 1. Nicely made, fine head with lovely dark eye. Showed well. 3 Harwin’s Alisiane Wish Upon A Star. JD (5,3) 1 Hughes’ One For The Road. At just 13 months needs time to develop and mature. Masculine head with dark eye, showed and moved well. 2 Hearsum’s Charelliby In My Own Time. White who also needs more time to body up and mature. His pigmentation is good and he has well knuckled feet. UGD (4,2) 1 Townsend’s Alanaura Steeleye Spanner. Just 12 months and has an even coat colour for his age. Of a heavier build, moved well in profile. 2 Gilbert’s Carlonia Spring Sunshine. Shapely apricot so enjoying his day out. PGD (9,1) Difficult class with varying types at different stages of maturity. 1 Coates’ Jaspalie Ghost. White with a huge jacket. Well made and an impressive picture standing. Long neck, short back and well angulated rear. Good feet and body. 2 Allegretti and Alford’s Montravia Dark Affair. Black with a beautiful head and expression. Well put together, just needs time to mature in body. 3 Brookes’ Afterglow Hellboy With Atelex LD (9,2) Quality class and a case of splitting hairs. 1 Hoblin’s Kertellas The Legacy. White who is maturing nicely. Lovely outline with his long neck and short back. Good, well covered ribcage. Balanced, refined head with dark eye. Excels in side gait from his well angulated rear. Good tailset and carriage. Res CC. 2 Parker and Winwood’s Montego Biffy Clyro. White and similar remarks apply. Impressive with good construction and topped with a good textured coat. More mature then 1 and showed well, but could not match winner’s rear drive on the day. 3 Davies’ Exalon Moon River Class: 9- SPECIAL OPEN DOG (ANY OTHER COLOUR) (3,1) 1 Winnington’s Fingolfin’s Lone Warrior. Mature harsh coat. Lovely head with dark almond eye, moved well. 2 Carlonia Spring Sunshine OD (6,2) 1 Langdon’s Huffish Rewrite The Stars With Atastar (Imp Swe) Black of the highest quality, who commands attention as soon as he enters the ring, with his typical Poodle attitude. Outstanding shape and conformation. Correct front assembly with a good topline. Short cobby body with good length of neck. He has the required depth and spring of rib. Balanced and refined yet masculine head with nice chiselling, dark eye with a ‘full of life’ expression. Enough rear angulation to enable him to move with drive and lightness of gait. Totally sound coming and going, holding his topline and tail at the correct angles. In perfect body condition and a superb example of the breed in temperament and construction. I loved his and i think he is one of the best I have judged. CC, BOB and BIS. 2 Elrick’s Pitfour Duke Of Cambridge. White. Nicely made with a good body. His head is masculine yet balanced. Super coat texture, showed well but felt he still needs more time to mature, when I think he could trouble the best. 3 Ratcliffe and Booth’s Namkia Thou Art Loved. SPECIAL BEGINNERS DOG (3,2) 1 Charelliby In My Own Time Vet B (6,3) Beale’s Ch Malibu They Call Me Mimi. This black is still maintaining the many qualities of her youth. Good head with a nice chin and lovely expression. In super body condition and stands on good feet. Still able to strut her stuff by moving soundly. Lovely temperament. 2 Brekkerud and McBlain’s Avatar Nirvana At Kossab (Imp Esp). Balanced outline and good body condition, with nice depth to rib and tight feet. 3 Harlow’s Itzapromise Smoken Mirrors At Izzandi. MPB (6,3) 1 Luty’s Sympika’s Special Edition. Very confident little lady who looks straight at you with dark, expressive eyes. Long refined head with good chin and stop. Correct front assembly and topline, nice depth and spring of ribs which are well covered. She moved very soundly with good ground coverage and holds her head and tail in the correct position. 2 Hoblin’s Kertellas Diamonds Darling. Very promising pretty black who looked impressive stacked. She is constucted well and in very good body condition. She showed well but was a little erratic on the day. When she settles I am sure she will follow her parents’ footsteps. 3 Stirland’s Royaldeniz Delilah PB (5,) 1 Patterson Rogerson’s Kamarri Wonderlicious. I see is sired by my CC winner the last time I judged. Nicely balanced with good construction, very feminine head and a dark eye. Showed and moved well. 2 Clancy’s Alisiane Step In Time. Litter sister to 2nd in PD and just as well made. She has a profuse coat and is good to go over. 3 Brekkerud and McBlain’s Achara Taylor Made To Kossab SPECIAL PUPPY BITCH (ANY OTHER COLOUR) (2) 1 Grace Wood and Patterson’s Kamarri Cast A Glow. Very pretty head with a nice chin. Good topline and depth of rib, good feet and showed nicely. 2 Cummins’ Willowmiens Dramatic Affair. Close decision - I just preferred the tail on 1. Nice head and short, cobby body. JB (5,2) 1 Rowe’s Kamarri Cast A Spell. Eyecatching puppy of only 10 months. Litter sister of the last class winner. Very typical of the breeding from this well known kennel. A lovely shape with her short back and long neck set into good front assembly. Nice body. Beautiful head, eye and expression. Tight knuckled feet, she showed well holding her topline. She should have an exciting future ahead of her. Best Puppy Bitch. 2 Marfitt’s Dageo Secret Obsession. Similar in type to the winner. Very pretty with good construction. Still needing to tighten in front, which should come with maturity. 3 Bleasdale’s Circe De Noor Y Albarral (Imp Esp) UGB (5,3) 1 Hutton’s Sarnia Show Me The Way To Go. Black in good coat, well made body, moves with great reach and drive from well angulated rear. 2 Wasaka’s Fiorghlan’s Heart Of Gretel At Viadua. Attractive and nicely made. Moved slightly erratically on the day. PGB (9,2) Lovely class of quality. 1 Parker and Winwood’s Montego Hear Say. Very like her brother in Limit. Mature dense white coat. Nice outline, excellent body and ribcage. Balanced head, well muscled rear. Scored here on her soundnes son the move and could not be denied the Res CC. 2 Brown’s Jaspalie Indecent Proposal. Another lovely white who presents a good outline. Nice construction and well angulated rear. Showed well. 3 Stokes’ Jaspalie Exceedingly Diva At Madsovtik LB (9,1) What a super class. I was spoilt for choice. Many deserve their titles and some had to go cardless, which on another day could have easily won the class. 1 Sakina’s Villanders Bring The Magic. Aptly named - she certainly did bring magic! Oozes femininity and quality, very much the type I look for and the perfect compliment to the DCC winner. Stunning outline and great construction,. The most beautiful refined and detailed head with dark, almond dhaped expressive eyes. Good neck, body and topline with good depth and spring of rib. Well angulated rear which she uses to move with style. elegance and freedom. Love her. CC. 2 Ansell’s Somanic Pop The Cork For Chalkwell. So good to go over. Balanced and attractive of a larger build. Good coat, well deserved her place here. 3 Barney’s Graebarn Sweet Caroline. SPECIAL OPEN BITCH (ANY OTHER COLOUR) (3) 1 Woodward’s Novatell Wicked Streak. Nicely made blue of even colour. Good neck and shoulder, feminine head, moved well. 2 Piket’s Vienna (Imp Nld). Squarely built silver in good coat and condition. Refined head and well angulated rear. 3 Circe de Noor Y Albarral (Imp Esp) OB (4,1) Garbutt’s Kertellas Live Your Dream At Tianola JW. Black, beautiful shape with a long neck, short back and well angulated rear. Lovely feminine head and small, dark eye. Did not make the most of herself on the move on the day. 2 Todd and Elrick’s Del Zarzoso Gracias Por Venir (Imp Esp). Mature white, good outline. Pleasing head with a dark eye, showed well. 3 Piket’s Vienna (Imp Nld). SPECIAL BEGINNERS B (4,1) 1 Circe de Noor Y Albarral (Imp Esp). Only 15 months and more settled on the move than in her previous class. Very pretty silver, has lots to like and has potential with maturity. 2 Wasowska’s Fiorghlan’s Briar Rose At Viadua. Smart white, attractive head with a pretty expression. Good body, showed well. 3 Royaldeniz Delilah.
